The World Web (TWW) is an AU of MLP:FiM where Equestria/Equus is one of many worlds among a web. Along with history being an alternative for Equestria, other lore is quite different. Save some locations and characters you may know of, this world is entirely different.
This AU is for both roleplays and stories of mine that I may eventually write.
Long ago, ages and eons since forgotten, Equus and its sister worlds were formed in the world web, or the leylines of creation. The Weaver created the world web after arriving in a blank, barren void. Saddened by the state this new world was in, she sacrificed everything to create six worlds and all they would need to thrive. These worlds were Equus, Avalona, Thustri, Djuun, Levia and Masra. Upon creating each world, The Weaver’s essence split apart and became a guardian for each world.
Equus, the firstborn. Its guardian was Gaia, and she watched with a loving gaze as life quickly took hold. Equus was the world with the most potential of all the six. Beings of all kinds made it their home, but this variety came at a cost.
Avalona, the second eldest. Its guardian was Kyto, and he challenged his world to compete with its eldest sibling in variety and passion. A primeval world, Avalona is the haven of beastfolk and the wildest beings known to the six.
Thustri, the smallest and third eldest. Its guardian was Nova, a gentle doting mother to the few elusive species that called Thustri their home. Perhaps the most magically infused of all worlds, Thustri would eventually be the home of the Alicorns.
Djuun, the fourth eldest and hottest world. Its guardian was Singe, a guardian quick to anger, and his passion inlaid itself in those that call Djuun their home. Dragons are thought to have come from this world.
Levia, the fifth eldest and most barren. Its guardian is Tythis, the peacekeeper. Instead of a naturally occurring landscape, Levia is an impossibly large geometric temple that surrounds the core of the world. It is considered a neutral ground for all beings, and many who live here are either monks or have nowhere else to go.
Masra, the youngest and coldest. Its guardian has since passed on, and so it is left as a prison world for those who turn their backs on their kind and their gods. Many die here, so many that as eons passed, valleys and fields of bone were formed from the remains of its inhabitants.
After The Weaver created all of existence within the void, the world web's newly appointed guardians began to orbit a mote of power at the center of all things. Each world took its place upon the stage of existence, and so many tales began.
At the dawn of Equus, Gaia ensured the safety of all primordial life and magic. However, as time passed and the ponies of Equus became independent, Gaia entered a deep sleep at the core of the planet. From her sleep, her will was interpreted by the alicorns, ponies with great power. Ponies became dependent on the alicorns and erected great temples in their name.
